A Trusted Security Company Serving Riverside with Licensed Guard Services
Security guard services in Riverside are only as good as the supervision behind them; someone has to check the guards. At Safeguard Security Services Inc., we have made that discipline our way of doing things for more than a decade. We provide physical security guard services in Riverside and neighboring cities. Our officers are trained in reporting writing, patrol observations, and customer services and they file reports you can pull at any hour of the day.
Other guard companies in Riverside will tell you they have supervision. We let the GPS record speak for itself. Property managers in Riverside call on Safeguard because they don’t want to be chasing down their private security for a report. Under our state PPO license, #122311, every officer we put in the field is registered with the BSIS. And since a break-in doesn’t only happen during office hours, our dispatch line is open 24/7. If you are comparing security guard services in Riverside from one provider to another, ask how they prove a patrol was done. Ours has timestamps to back it up.
When You Need Us
When Riverside Properties Need Professional Security
We have been watching the patterns of property crime in Riverside for years. Storefronts in areas like Mission Grove and Orangecrest have dealt with after-hours burglaries, some through the ceiling. Copper thieves steal wire from vacant buildings and yards, while construction sites are left to lose materials and tools overnight. Then there is downtown where event crowds spill out of venues, or the HOA board has to deal with tailgating at the gate and renter turnover. A camera can document the loss, but an officer on site is what stops it.
What We Do
Security Services We Provide in Riverside
Use-of-Force Reviewed
Armed Security Services in Riverside
Certain posts demand an armed officer: cash handling, high-value stock, or a location with a past for confrontation. Our officers are licensed through BSIS and have firearm permits and range qualification, and pass our own use-of-force review before they take a post. Post orders are written so your insurer and the officer are on the same page.
Judgment and a Paper Trail
Unarmed Security Services in Riverside
For most commercial risks, you don’t need a firearm. You need judgment, a visible presence and a paper trail. That is why unarmed security makes up the majority of our security guard services in Riverside. Our guards handle the lobby desk, parking and access control. They put in the extra hours on de-escalation and writing up a proper report, well beyond what the state requires.
Event Security Services in Riverside
Riverside’s calendar is busier than people think. Between the conventions downtown and festival weekends that shut down streets, our event security teams are there to manage the crowd flow and entry screening without making a scene. We size up the headcount and alcohol service to staff accordingly, no guesswork involved. From a two-man wedding detail to a full perimeter for a Fox show, we can cover it.
Construction Site Security in Riverside
General contractors in Riverside know equipment has a way of “getting lost” on an unwatched site. We see the losses on copper, tools, and materials. Our construction site security guards will be on site when the deliveries come in and walking the fence line once the crew is gone. One man in the right spot is worth four cameras no one is looking at.
California Fire Code // Hourly RoundsFire Watch Services in Riverside
If your alarm or sprinkler system goes down, the fire marshal is not going to wait on your repairman. A fire watch can be required under the California Fire Code until you are back in commission. We put our officers on hourly rounds with the logbook and notification chain in hand. Make the call before you get the citation.
HOA, Gated Community & Residential Security Services
The way an officer runs the gate is how residents form an opinion of the whole HOA. We make sure access control is firm but not rude in communities like Canyon Crest and Orangecrest. Most boards come to us for HOA security after break-ins or a complaint about gate-crashing. We prefer to start before that happens. Your HOA president can join us for a site walk to scope out the service.
Canyon Crest // OrangecrestWe price the post after we walk it.
A supervisor reviews your access points and incident history in person, so the figure fits the property instead of a rate card.
Accountability
Why Riverside Businesses Choose Safeguard
Supervision at Safeguard is a three-layer process. On every round our officers hit Silvertrac checkpoints verified by GPS and stamped to the minute. Dispatch is watching those scans live. Miss a window by 15 minutes and it gets flagged then and there, not next week. Field supervisors make unannounced visits to see for themselves. We are fully insured and licensed by the California BSIS (PPO #122311) and our response times are Inland Empire fast, not from a dispatcher two counties over.

Local Knowledge
Serving Riverside and the Inland Empire
As a county seat, Riverside has its share of county-seat issues. There is a steady stream of foot traffic past commercial doors from the courts and government offices in the busy downtown. The Convention Center and the Fox Performing Arts district are where an event night can alter the risk block by block. The UC Riverside area has its student housing turnover, and the pedestrians stay out late. In residential places like Mission Grove, Canyon Crest, and Orangecrest; we see repeat burglary patterns at the storefronts and perimeters there.
And when the city’s fire prevention division enforces the California Fire Code, we are there for the fire watch. Hourly rounds, the logbook, the whole procedure. The watch does not end until fire prevention gives the release. These are the specifics our security guard services in Riverside are built on. A post plan that is fine for a Woodland Hills office park will not cut it in a downtown parking structure. You need local knowledge to keep an honest plan.

Industries We Serve in Riverside
Warehouse & Industrial Security Services
On the 91 and 215 side of town, warehouse security is dock coverage, driver check-in and verifying seals on swing shifts. With a GPS-stamped log in place, cargo has a habit of not disappearing.
Commercial & Office Security Services
We control vendor access and provide tenant escorts in the downtown buildings after dark. Your tenants are accustomed to the same officer, not some stranger.
Retail Center Security Services
While the shrink team is inside the store, we are at the door and in the lot handling trespassers and providing visible deterrence.
Healthcare Security Services
For clinics and medical offices we focus on staff safety and visitor management. A calm presence is called for more here than anywhere else.

FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
How Much Does It Cost to Hire a Security Guard in Riverside?
It varies with the site risk, the number of officers required, and whether they are armed or unarmed. An HOA gate post is not going to be priced the same as a warehouse with active docks, and overnight or holiday hours run higher. Anybody giving you a quote without seeing the site is guessing. We price security guard services in Riverside after a complimentary walk so the figure is right for your property. Call 877-766-5499 to set one up.
Can a Security Guard Detain Someone?
Private guards are not police, and the best ones rarely need to lay a hand on anyone. California law leaves narrow room for holding a suspect for officers, and our post orders spell out exactly when that applies. The working answer is presence, de-escalation and a detailed report, then the police handle the rest. That approach keeps your liability down and holds up better in court than a wrestling match in your parking lot.
Do Security Guards Carry Guns?
Only some, and only where it is justified. We run armed and unarmed officers under the same PPO license and supervision. An armed officer carries the extra BSIS firearm permit and comes at a premium, so we only put one on a post if the risk warrants it. Most posts in Riverside are unarmed. There is no point in paying for a firearm the site doesn't call for.
How Do I Hire a Security Guard for a Party?
One conversation is all it takes. Whether it is a quinceañera, a corporate function or an estate gathering, a two-man detail means the hosts can be hosts and we can see off the gate-crashers. We size the security from the headcount and the venue. Give us the date and you will usually have your numbers before dinner.
When Is a Fire Watch Required?
Generally when a required fire protection system, like your sprinklers or alarm panel, is out of service and the fire authority calls for a watch until it is restored. Riverside's fire prevention division takes that seriously. Our officers run the rounds, keep the logbook and follow the notification chain until the release comes through. Tell dispatch what has failed and the square footage, and we will give you an honest start time.
